The weekly potlucks are continuing this Saturday, Nov 23 @ 5pm for the last gathering before the Thanksgiving break. Come on by and enjoy good company as we chat about our post Helene life and 2025!

๐Ÿซ‚ Helene Recovery Support Group - Wed Dec 4th @ 6-7:30pm

The Helene Recovery Support Group met Wednesday and will be meeting again on Wed Dec 4th. It features fellowship, dialogue, and support facilitated by Katherine Kekenes Peterson, RN, AHM-BC. It's a great way to connect with others and deal with stress. All are welcome

๐Ÿ Thanksgiving Dinners - Receive or Give - Wed Nov 27 3pm-6pm

Hillside Community Center is offering free Thanksgiving Dinners for pick up to support those in need. This is on Wednesday, Nov 27 from 3pm-6pm. If you can spend an hour or so volunteering to support the program, volunteers are welcome between 2pm and 7pm. 35 Hillside Street Weaverville. Lowes of Weaverville is also offering dinners starting Tuesday at noon until they are gone. P.S. Thank you to Mount Holly for the fabulous spaghetti dinner and friends of the Presbyterian Church for the amazing BBQ last week.

๐Ÿชš Chainsaw Safety Training session, Sat Nov 23 9:30am-11:30am

Learn essential safety practices and proper chainsaw handling techniques. The class will be delivered by NC Cooperative extension specialists and is free. Registration link is here

๐Ÿงน Debris Clean-Up

Near 200,000 cubic yards of debris have been collected in Buncombe County. You may have seen trucks clearing Reems Creek Rd. There is an online application for Private Property Debris Removal Residents can also reach out to the OneBuncombe call center with questions 828-250-6100.

๐ŸŒช๏ธ Remember - FEMA Assistance Available

FEMA funding also supports repairs on private roads and bridges. To apply for this and other FEMA assistance, visit disasterassistance.gov, call 1-800-621-3362, or stop by the Disaster Recovery Center, open daily at the Asheville Mall from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

๐Ÿงธ Toy Drive @ Hillside

Hillside Hope is organizing a Toy Drive! You can drop off your gifts at 35 Hillside St. Alternatively, connect with any of the Hillside Hope volunteers to arrange a gift drop-off. New unwrapped toys only please. Speciall thanks to Germaine and Forrest Weaver for their steadfast support and continual giving to support families in our region.
